FAQ

Does it work on a phone?

That is what it is for. The browser asks for the rear camera, and every capture becomes a page. If the browser blocks camera access, the photo picker opens the phone’s own camera instead — same result.

What does “clean it up” do?

It converts to grey and stretches the contrast against the real light and dark of your photo rather than a fixed scale, so a yellowish page or an unevenly lit one still comes out with white paper and black text. Turn it off for anything you need in colour.

Are my scans uploaded?

No. The camera feed, the pictures and the PDF never leave the device — the tool has nowhere to send them.

Why is my PDF so heavy?

Because phone cameras shoot at far more resolution than a document needs. Normal is about 200 dpi on A4, which is what a real scanner produces. Use Detailed only when the small print matters.

Can it detect the edges of the page and straighten it?

Not yet — you frame the page and it cleans up the exposure. Cropping and perspective correction are the next step.
